Chrystal Ballard and Julie Cole with trainers from Capturing Kids' Hearts

On Monday, September 13th, and Tuesday, September 14th, the trainers from Capturing Kids’ Hearts were back on campus, continuing training with our staff members. About a dozen and a half teachers went through the “Process Champions” training yesterday.

Last year, all teachers attended the 2-day “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” training, but because the training offers so many different transformational ideas and techniques, QISD followed up with the “Process Champions” training.  The Capturing Kids’ Hearts website describes the training as “…an immersive, participatory experience. We empower participants with the skills and techniques needed to support and mentor their colleagues. Process Champions is devoted to establishing strategies for continuing momentum for Capturing Kids’ Hearts.”

Today, the trainers from Capturing Kids’ Hearts met with each principal at each campus to receive additional instruction on how they can assist their teacher mentors, forming a “Process Champions” team for each campus. The final goal of each team is to help all teachers master all aspects of the “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” training, leading to “to permanent transformation of the culture and climate of their classrooms, campuses, and district.”
