Notice: 9/16/24 The Elementary principal issued a secure alert today, September 16th, at approximately 12:45 pm. This was due to two students reporting they saw a suspicious person near the playground. The staff investigated, and law enforcement responded. In this investigation, it is clear that there was, in fact, no suspicious individual or threat. The secure status has been closed, and the elementary campus is operating normally. In an abundance of caution, both the JH/HS campuses were placed on a secure as well. That has been closed, and all campuses are operating as usual. There was NO threat or emergency at any campus at Quitman ISD. Don't hesitate to contact your child's campus if you have any further questions.

✨🐾 BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT 🤩👏 Daniel Kernes, senior, was selected to attend Texas Boys State over the summer sponsored by the American Legion Post 296 in Mineola. He and the other boys from Wood County who attended were invited to the Post to share their experiences. Mr. Tittle, Mrs. Park, and Daniel's parents, Lynn and Tania Kernes, went to support Daniel. Here is what Daniel had to say about his experience: It was an honor being selected to go to the Texas Boys State Camp in Austin. The camp lasted six days and in those six days, me and over a thousand other upcoming Seniors learned how the Texas Government works and how it felt to be a politician. Campers were allowed to run for different offices and positions, for example, the governor, mayor, and all the other offices that our government, districts, and cities contain. I was elected to represent Townes City's Federalists in the House of Representatives. In the House, and just like real life, we made our own bills. We then voted on the bills which led to a heaping amount of debate. The House was filled with intelligent people and I learned a lot just by listening. Once my job in the House was finished, I listened to many speeches made by candidates who were running for bigger positions like Supreme Court and Governor. During the week, we marched to the capitol and toured around the building. Getting to see the history of our government and how far we have come from was interesting to me. I made tons of friends and even learned the Texas Boys State Song. This was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and now I have interest in being active in politics. I cannot thank Mrs. Park and Mr. Tittle for nominating me to go, it was a blessing. Congrats, Daniel! We are so proud of you! Keep doing great things and making Quitman proud! 💙 #TeamQuitman #BuildingBetterBulldogs

We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers for their efforts and performance on the 2024 State Assessments. 🤩👏 These achievements are due to the intentional and strategic work of our entire school community! Unfortunately, due to a court order, the State of Texas is unable to release projected A-F Ratings. Aligning with QISD's commitment to community and parental involvement we are sharing our "predicted" A-F District score. Congratulations, Bulldogs, on a job well done! 🙌 #TeamQuitman #BuildingBetterBulldogs 🐾💙
