
QISD will have a delayed start tomorrow, due to the weather. School will begin at 10 a.m. and employees should report at 9:30 a.m. Buses will run approximately two hours later than normal.

Monday, February 14th, is a staff development work day. There will be no school for students. Students will return to school on Tuesday, February 15th.


The East Texas Food Bank will be bringing their Mobile Food program back to Bud Moody Stadium next Wednesday, 2/16. There are no eligibility requirements, paperwork or ID required. Be sure to enter from West Side Drive from Cliff Street. Distributions will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until supplies run out.

Due to the forecasted winter weather on Thursday, February 3, all QISD campuses and offices will be closed on Thursday. All extracurricular activities for Thursday, February 3 are also canceled.
A decision regarding school closure for Friday, February 4th will be made on Thursday.

In an overabundance of caution, tomorrow night's basketball games for both junior high boys and girls have been cancelled in anticipation of the winter storm.



Public Notice
The Quitman ISD is now planning for the Gifted and Talented Education program for the 2022-2023 school year. The G/T program is designed for students with exceptional intellectual and creative thinking abilities. Anyone wishing to nominate a student attending Quitman ISD in kindergarten through eleventh grade is asked to go by the school office and request a copy of the nomination form. This form must be returned to the school by March 23.

On Wednesday, December 8th, a representative from the East Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (ETCADA) will be providing a parent presentation on the dangers of vaping at 6 p.m. The presentation will be held in the high school auditorium. The presentation will be for Parents and Guardians only. Faith Baptist and First Baptist Quitman have student programs on Wednesday and can provide child care for school aged children. Light refreshments will be provided at 5:30 p.m. and door prizes will be raffled at the end of the presentation. Please contact your campus counselor if you have questions.
