The Quitman Lady Bulldogs will take on the White Oak Roughnecks in Round 2 of the UIL Volleyball Playoffs this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The game will be played at Hawkins High School. Tickets will be available for $5 for adults and $3 for students. Come cheer these ladies on to victory!
Our QHS Volleyball team will take on White Oak in the 2nd round of the playoffs! Game is in Hawkins this Saturday at 1:30.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The JV football game set for this Thursday has been cancelled. The 7th & 8th grade teams will play at home instead of West Rusk on Thursday, November 4th, beginning at 5 p.m.
Tomorrow night's JV football game at home against Troup has been cancelled. 7th and 8th grade will play as scheduled, beginning at 5 p.m.

Jack Tannebaum isn't someone you would typically catch "lying down on the job." However, last week Jack sprawled across a bridge of popsicle sticks to show its resiliency. The bridge was a project created by Senior-level Engineering Design and Problem Solving students. The students were tasked with creating a bridge using only popsicle sticks and rubber bands. Glue was not allowed. The students rose to the challenge and created this bridge--when finished, it held up to 180lbs! Way to go students!
Due to inclement weather the parade and downtown pep-rally have been cancelled.
School will release early as planned.

Picture Day is tomorrow, Sept. 22, for Quitman JH & HS.
Students will get a QR code to view and order pictures once they are ready. We will also use the pictures in our yearbook.
Senior Pictures are scheduled for Oct. 7.
To better communicate with parents, staff, and the community we will begin posting a COVID-19 Report at the end of each week instead of daily call outs. The report will include the number of active cases on each campus, the type of active case, and the positivity rate for the previous week. Probable close contact notices will continue to be sent daily as cases are reported to notify parents. We want to encourage all staff, students, and parents to review the QISD Health Response Protocol as this is updated regularly. Thank you all for being flexible and understanding during this time. Nurse Staci Vander Schaaf was honored today for her perseverance and dedication to QHS's staff and students. Nurse V, as many call her, serves as the point of contact for both junior high and high school students and staff who may be feeling under the weather. She juggles many tasks at one time, always with a smile and pleasant attitude. Thank you Nurse V!
