Project Tornado from Channel 7 TV with Mark Scirto. Chief Meteorologist, visited Quitman Elementary School Thursday morning. Students learned about flooding, tornadoes, and dangerous weather conditions.



Just a reminder as we get to pretty spring weather - shorts should be no more than 3 inches above the knee and NO flip flops please. Kids canāt keep those flip flops on their feet! Thanks!!!

QES 4th and 5th students are READY TO ROCK THE STAAR Tuesday and Wednesday. We are so proud of our students and staff. Be sure that your child gets a good nightās sleep tonight and a good breakfast in the morning. Give them an extra HUG!
We ask that visitors not come to eat lunch during these two days as students may still be testing at lunchtime.

STAAR PEP RALLY- and the kids saw an educational video and chanted āROCK THE STAAR!ā There might have been a quick dance contest!

My favorite thing is when our great students come to read to me in my office. This first grader blew me away with his chapter book and strong fluent reading! When asked how he got to be such a great reader he answered, āMy sister taught me.ā

We will be honoring the late Timothy Hancock at the Bulldog relays on Thursday April 4th at 3:30. Mr. Hancock, a former QISD student, won the Conference 3A 400m State Title in 1997.

MOM and Son Olympics were hosted Friday night by the QES PTO. Competition was tough!



UT TYLER JOB FAIR was in Tyler Thursday. Mary Ann Nichols, Principal, and Whitney Crutcher , Instructional Coach, met with teacher candidates.


The Wood County Junior Livestock Show will be held April 4th-6th at the QISD Ag Pavilion behind QJH/QHS.

Some of our 5th graders spent some time spreading kindness around the school yesterday. We love our custodial staff!!
