Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Track teams on an OUTSTANDING district meet Wednesday and Thursday night in Mineola!
Our varsity boys finished in 5th place overall highlighted by Ford Tannebaum qualifying for Area in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Brandon Jimenez qualified in the 800 run in 2nd place. Brady Floyd qualified with 3rd place in the pole vault. Christian Plata qualified 4th in the 3200 meter run. These young men will compete next week at Atlanta in the Area Meet. The boys teams are coached by: Coach Josh Wade, Coach Kyle Kern, Coach Brandon Fields, Coach Devin Shaw, Coach Eric Shaw, and Coach David Cross.
Our varsity girls finished 2nd overall with the following individual results. Bonnie Vander Schaaf, Brooklyn Marcee, Sarah Smith, Madyson Pence:4x400m Relay 1st place (area qualifier); Brooklyn Marcee: 2nd in Pole Vault / 2nd in Long Jump / 1st in 100 and 300m hurdles (area qualifier in all ); Halie Davis: 2nd in shot put / 4th in discus (area qualifier in both); Delaney Flanagan: 4th in discus (area qualifier); Bonnie Vander Schaaf: 3rd in 100m hurdles (area qualifier) / 5th in high jump 4x100m Relay; Alexa Flores: 4th in 800m dash (area qualifier) / 6th in 1600m run / 5th in 3200m run; Cristal Plata, Jazmin Rojas, Madyson Pence, Ashley Davis: 4x200m Relay-3rd place (area qualifer); . Cicely Bravo: 4th in 100m dash (area qualifier); Cristal Plata: 6th in 200m dash; Sarah Smith: 6th in 400m dash/5th in 800m dash; Cristal Plata, Jazmin Rojas, Madyson Pence, Ashley Davis: 4x100m Relay-5th place. The girls teams are coached by: Coach Blake Hamrick, Coach Ashlee Lingo, Coach Thomas Linz, and Coach Sydney Mercer
Our JV boys finished in 3rd place highlighted by Ethan Presley who finished 2nd in high jump and 4th in discus. Weston Pence came in 4th in the 400 and Mikey Pickering got 4th in the 300 hurdles. Our 4X4 team of Garin Kisinger, Ethan Presley, Carlos Flores, and Weston Pence finished 3rd.
Our JV Girls also finished 2nd overall with the folloiwng highlights:2nd Place in the 4x100 and 4x200: Tori Lara, Abby Day, Skylar Flores, Isabella Paoli; Skylar Flores: 2nd place in 200m dash and 4th in Long Jump; Isabella Paoli: 3rd in 200m dash; Tori Lara: 4th in 200m dash; Abby Day: 2nd in Shot and Discus; Ally Molina: 3rd in Shot and Discus; Candace Herring: 4th in Shot and Discus.
