Quitman Elementary is looking for mentors who are willing to volunteer their time to help students.
If you are interested in coming to the elementary campus one day a week for an hour to work one-on-one with a student who is having difficulty with academics or in need of extra attention, please contact June Sims at Quitman Elementary School. All mentors must have a background check before working with students.

QES STAFF DEVELOPMENT on Friday was a look at data for Quitman teachers to improve instruction.
FLASHLIGHT FRIDAY was fun for building reading endurance today in Mrs. Kennemer’s classroom. Students did sustained reading for twenty minutes! 7 minutes longer than their record! Great!
FAB FRIDAY VOLUNTEERS stop for a quick picture during their classes with students. We appreciate the time these ladies give to our students. Why do they help? “Because we love these kids and it’s fun!” Shout out Brenda Young, Carol Howle and Doris Weaver!

QES LUNCH AND LEARN today for staff members was Behavior Tips for the Classroom by Lance Morrow, Assistant Principal. Three sessions during each lunch period brought a crowd.
QES fifth graders presented THE MORNING MEETING at the Monday Night board meeting. The Morning Meeting is a part of the Social Emotional Learning that is emphasized this year. Building relationships and creating a safe space is a priority for the campus.

MORE BULLDOG ACADEMY FUN!
Bulldog Academy was a big success with Quitman Elementary students this morning. They learned respect for the flag, school song, and fight song. They also learned some Bulldog cheers thanks to the QHS cheerleaders and football guys.
