Several faculty and staff members took the opportunity during yesterday's Inservice day to listen to a presentation from Dr. Wes Hickey of UT Tyler. Dr. Hickey, Dean of the College of Education & Psychology and Professor, was on-hand to discuss the new educational opportunities for staff members to earn their graduate degrees.
QISD recently entered into a "Memorandum of Understanding" with UT Tyler that will offer master's degrees in the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Reading, School Counseling, and Special Education. QISD will offer a payroll deduction option for admitted students to cover tuition and fees incurred while taking classes. UT Tyler will bill the District at the end of each semester for tuition and fees. UT Tyler has also agreed that there will be no increase in tuition and fees totaling over 5% each year.
