We are proud to share that Quitman Elementary School and Quitman High School have been recognized by Erika’s Lighthouse as a Peggy Kubert Model School for Excellence in School Mental Health.
This national recognition honors schools that are creating supportive, inclusive environments and prioritizing student mental health through schoolwide education, awareness, and prevention efforts.
We believe that supporting students’ emotional well-being is an essential part of helping them learn, grow, and thrive. Together with our teachers, counselors, social workers, and staff, we are committed to fostering a school community where students feel safe, connected, and supported.
Erika’s Lighthouse: is a nonprofit organization that provides free mental health education and suicide prevention resources to K–12 schools nationwide. Through classroom education, student empowerment, family engagement, and staff development, their programs help schools create open, supportive conversations around mental health.
This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our entire school community, including our educators, staff, students, and families, to build a culture rooted in empathy, inclusion, and support. We are grateful for your continued support as we work together to prioritize student well-being and help every student feel seen, valued, and connected. 💙
