Quitman Independent School District is pleased to announce Lyndsay McKnight as Elementary Assistant Principal for the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. McKnight brings 25 years of experience in elementary education and a deep commitment to student success, instructional excellence, and building strong relationships with families and staff.

Throughout her career, Mrs. McKnight has served students in grades 2-5 as a classroom teacher, mentor teacher, team leader, and Reading Interventionist. Her passion for helping students reach their full potential, supporting teachers, and fostering positive school communities has been the foundation of her work in education.

Mrs. McKnight joined Quitman ISD in 2023 as a Reading Interventionist, where she collaborated with teachers and campus teams to strengthen instruction, implement targeted interventions, and support student achievement. She holds a Texas Principal Certification and a Master of Education in Reading from Texas A&M University–Commerce. In addition, she brings valuable leadership experience in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and teacher mentoring.

“Every child deserves to feel valued, supported, and capable of success,” McKnight said. “My goal is to build strong relationships, empower teachers, and help create a school culture where every student can thrive.”

Mrs. McKnight believes that strong relationships and high expectations are essential to student success, embracing the philosophy that “love is the most important factor for educators, and that love is high expectations.”

We are confident that Mrs. McKnight’s experience, leadership, and dedication to students will continue to make a positive impact on Quitman ISD.

Please join us in congratulating her on this well-earned role!
