On February 28 the Quitman High School Student Council attended the Texas Association of Student Councils' District 19 Spring Forum. The students received the award of Sweepstakes Council, receiving recognition in the areas of Community Service, Pride and Patriotism, Energy and Environment, Outstanding Student Council, and D.A.S.H. (Drug, Alcohol, Safety, and Health). The project they completed for the forum was to assemble backpacks to be given to children going into CASA/Foster care.
